This is because – unlike dentures or bridges – they are embedded\nwithin the patient’s jaw exactly as a natural tooth would be. This results in\nthem being just as strong and durable as natural teeth, as well as looking and\nfeeling identical. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does the implant process of today involve?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first step on getting dental implants from us\nhere at David Madruga is to book a consultation or e-consultation with Dr\nMadruga. Even if you have been told previously that you are not eligible for\nimplants, it always helps to get a second, expert opinion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consultations let Dr Madruga identify if any\nother problems, such as gum disease or tooth decay, will have to be dealt with\nbefore the implant process can begin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Provided that no evidence of anything out of the\nordinary is present, and no bone augmentation is required, the actual implant\nprocedure will take place. This involves a small surgical dental procedure –\nduring which the patient is under local anaesthetic or continuous sedation –\nwhich involves making a hole directly into the patient’s jawbone in the space\nwhere they are missing teeth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Into this hole, a titanium-alloy socket is placed and left to heal. After this follows a short healing period, during which time the socket and bone tissue merge together. This means that it can then be used as a firm and forever fixed anchor-point into which a denture can be attached. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
